Signing the cooperation agreement between University of Cambridge and National Foreign Language Project
Giving a speech at the ceremony, Minister Phùng Xuân Nhạ recalled the long history of development of University of Cambridge and highly appreciated the collaboration between University of Cambridge, its affiliates and Vietnam’s educational institutions in recent years.
He said that the signing of Co-operation memoranda this time would deepen the lasting co-operation relationship between University of Cambridge and Vietnam, create opportunities for Vietnam to approach reputable training programs, examinations and assessments of University of Cambridge.
He also shared information about Vietnam’s new general education programme and priorities in running the programme in the future, focusing on teaching and learning English, and Vietnam’s expectations to improve the quality of English teaching and learning.
He believed that the collaboration between Vietnam’s National Foreign Language Project and Cambridge Assessment will create opportunities for Vietnamese learners to approach high quality English training and build up a team of intensive examiners for Vietnam.
At University of Cambridge, Minister Phùng Xuân Nhạ oversaw the signing of Co-operation memorandum between the National Foreign Language and Cambridge Assessment; Co-operation memorandum between Cambridge Assessment and Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Co-operation memorandum between University of Cambridge Press and Vietnam Education Publishing House.
The Minister and Vietnam’s delegation also visited Stephen Perse Foundation Sixth Form College – a school in the education system of University of Cambridge and visited DC10 - examination, data and exam paper Management area of Cambridge Assessment – this is the area where data of English proficiency assessments is managed, assessments are designed, exam papers are marked, exam-related materials are stored to the highest level in terms of security.
In the framework of the working visit of Minister Phùng Xuân Nhạ and the delegation of Vietnam, University of Cambridge and the affiliates of Cambridge Assessment and University of Cambridge Press generated an in-depth discussion with Vietnam’s universities, high schools, enterprises, educational institutions on English training contents, international Cambridge certificates and learning material resources.
