College of Social Sciences and Humanities - Hanoi National University

1. Foundation Date
Like the College of Sciences, the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) was established in September, 1995 on the basis of the departments of social sciences and humanities of the former University of Hanoi established in 1956.
2. Mandate
- To offer undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate training programs so as to provide qualified human resources for the socio-economic development of the country;
- To carry out research on history, cultural values and traditions in order to preserve Vietnam’s national identity as Vietnam integrates into the region and the world.

7. Scientific Research and Application
CSSH has been implementing a number of important research projects in collaboration with different agencies in the country, in the region and the world over. These activities have practically and effectively contributed to the socio-economic, cultural and political development of the country.
8. International Co-operation
International co-operation has been considered to be of great importance by CSSH. Through international co-operation, the professional knowledge and skills of teachers and students have been upgraded, the facilities for its training and research have gradually been improved.
The forms of co-operation might include: staff and student exchange, delivery of short-term courses, international conferences, and joint-research programs.
In continuation and development of the traditions set forth by the former University of Hanoi, CSSH has expanded its cooperative linkages to many countries in the world, such as: Australia, Canada, China, France, Japan, Korea, Russia, Singapore, United Kingdom, U.S.A., etc.
